How to edit a color scheme in Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint design themes are specially created to give a professional look
to your presentation. Themes define design features of a presentation,
such as colors, fonts and layouts.
Microsoft PowerPoint does offer some beautiful built-in color themes; however, presenters often do not like to limit their choices to these built-in themes and like to create their own color themes that suit their presentation and their audience.
To create your own color theme follow the simple steps stated below:
- First click on the Design tab to open it; the tab is situated on the ribbon.
- Now select a color scheme to use. You can find a variety of colors in a scheme. They all come together and work as a unit to make your presentation attractive.
- Then you need to click on the Theme Colors button. You will see multiple options at this point. Go to Create New Theme Colors and the Create New Theme Colors dialog box will open.
- Now you are free to choose the color that you want to change, click on the button representing you desired color. For instance, to change the first accent color, click on the Accent 1 button; on this a gallery of colors will appear to choose color from.
- Now is the time to pick your color.
- Well, you are done! By the time you reach this step you will have already created your custom color scheme. Go ahead and save it.
